Unfinished Business, Farewell, Lee McQueen

Founder of Alexander McQueen, Lee McQueen, 40, is found dead at 10am on 11 Feb, 2010 in his home in West End, London.

It is believed that the designer has taken his own life. His mother passed away two weeks ago. His mother had interviewed him for a newspaper in 2004 and asked him: ‘What is your most terrifying fear?’, to which he replied: ‘Dying before you.’ She said: ‘Thank you, son.’

Isabella Blow, a close friend of McQueen, also took her own life in 2007 .

Alexander McQueen’s official site is now shut down. Displaying the message asking for privacy for family to come to terms with his tragic passing. McQueen’s last tweets were:

1 Feb “From heaven to hell and back again, life is a funny thing. Beauty can come from the most strangest of places even the most disgusting places.” A few minutes later, he posted: “Why people ignore the ugly things in life but within this they are missing the beauty that lies under the rotten fruit!!!!!!!!!!!!”

3 Feb“RIP mumxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,” he said. And a few minutes later: “But life must go on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

7 Feb “Sunday evening been an F—-g awful week but my friends have been great, but now I have to some how [sic] pull myself together and finish with the…”

His last tweet said “I’m here with my girl Annie Tinkerbell wishing Kerry the slag, happy birthday in NY, your [sic] 40 now girl time to slow it down we think.”

We all love McQueen’s designs. His mutant reptile shoes from his last collection will forever be my most favourite shoes.

McQueen was due to showcase his Spring/Summer 2011 collection in Paris in March. If the show is to go ahead, it will attract fans worldwide to pay tribute to the legendary designer.

We are incredibly sorry you’re no longer with us, Lee. Rest In Peace. We love you.
